About UC Blue Ash

The Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Information Technology faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is located fifteen miles north of the main uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.

The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (MPCS) has 29 full-time and more than a dozen adjunct faculty members who are committed to teaching in a diverse environment. Our department currently offers 2-year associate degrees in information technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue their education.

Job Overview

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach courses associate degrees level courses in information technology. Courses may include Systems Administration, Introduction to Networking, Programming, Web Development, and Databases.

The courses may be offered in-person, online, or a hybrid. Class sizes normally range from 15-30 students. Adjunct Instructors would teach 1-2 courses each fall and spring terms. All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa or green card sponsorship.

Essential Functions

  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • Using our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems, as well as other relevant classroom technology.
  • Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
  • Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.


Required Education

  • Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the selected candidate must have: A Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field of study.
  • A Master's degree in education will be considered if the candidate has several academic years of college-level teaching experience in IT/CS and the necessary graduate credits to teach in the discipline.


Required Experience

  • One (1) year of academic teaching experience at the college level.
