The AVP People Analytics role is a key strategic leader, responsible for shaping and executing the company's comprehensive people analytics strategy. This role demands a forward-thinking visionary with deep expertise in data analytics and a profound understanding of people analytics. This role is instrumental in harnessing the power of data to drive business performance through data informed decisions, elevate the employee experience through insights from Voice of Employee surveys, and optimize operational efficiency. With a focus on translating complex data into actionable insights and compelling stories, this leader will play a critical role in guiding the organization towards sustained growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking people analytics strategy that not only aligns with but also drives GMF's overarching business goals and growth ambitions Ensure the strategy is agile and adaptable to the auto-finance industry landscape
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing people analytics team Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Partner with HR Senior leadership, HRBPs and HR stakeholders, to understand their data needs and foster a data-driven culture providing actionable data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions across all levels of the organization Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for data-informed decision-making
- Business Performance Analysis: Analyze and interpret complex data sets related to employee life cycle data (attraction, onboarding, performance management, engagement, development, succession planning, compensation, retention, offboarding, etc) HR and business financial performance, business metrics, and operational efficiency Provide clear, concise, and impactful communication of findings to stakeholders, focusing on actionable recommendations that drive results
- Customer Insights: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of people demographics, behavior, and preferences Use this knowledge to develop insights and recommendations focused on enhancing the employee experience, increased performance, support career development and drive sustainable growth
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with HR Senior Leaders, HRBPs and HR stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced service delivery Leverage data analysis to provide actionable insights that lead to measurable improvements in operational efficiency
- Technology & Tools: Partner with GMF analytics teams and HR Technology to continuously evaluate and provide recommendations for cutting-edge data analytics tools and technologies to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the analytics team Ensure the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and security in all data systems
- Reporting & KPIs: In partnership with HR Technology design and oversee the development of dynamic dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs), offering real-time visibility into business performance Ensure reports are tailored to meet the needs of senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, GMF analytics teams, IT and HR Technology to ensure that data analytics initiatives are aligned with broader business objectives Act as a bridge between departments, ensuring a cohesive and unified approach to data utilization
- Industry Trends: Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and the auto-finance industry Proactively incorporate relevant innovations into the company's people analytics strategy, ensuring GMF remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What makes you an ideal candidate:
- Proven experience leading related analytics teams
- Deep expertise in a broad range of data analytics tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI, with the ability to leverage these platforms to deliver actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business insights
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive strategic decisions through data
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven success in building strong strategic business relationships
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field required
- Master's Degree preferred
Experience
- Greater than 10 years of experience in a related analytics role required
- 5-7 years in a people leadership role required
- 5-7 years in people analytics function preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY
GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada. In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015. In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.
