Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Staff Assistant for the Office of Community Health at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Staff Assistant will assist the Program Director in daily tasks, staff and maintain the main office, maintain and inventory program and donation supplies, assist student leaders, assist in the coordination and implementation of initiatives and fundraising and donation events, process and pay program expenditures and stipends and provide finance and program reports.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Supports the HIPHOP Program Director and student leaders with daily and programming task.
  • Provides administrative support and assist with coordination of the Homeless & Indigent Population Health Outreach Project (HIPHOP) program including calendar management, office correspondence, initiating and/or implementing special projects and programming.
  • Maintains the main office and program files.
  • Screens calls and provide information in accordance with organizational and office policy.
  • Proactively plans for and assist with upcoming community outreach events. Coordinates with key stakeholders, internal and external community partners and departments on outreach activities.
  • Ensures adequate supply of materials for events, such as flyers, giveaways, marketing materials.
  • Maintains inventory and reorder and drop off and/or pick up schedule supplies/donations.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of professional level experience in a business office, government agency or university setting.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
