Senior Accountant - Military Veterans

Job Purpose
Perform a professional accounting process involving compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data for the business unit that comply with existing corporate financial policies and regulations. Work within an agreed plan and support / coach junior team members. Ensure that reporting is correct, timely and compliant to procedures and legislation, identify any shortcomings and recommend improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply accounting practices and techniques to the classification and recording of data
- Compile and analyse financial information and provide commentary and explanation on items of particular significance
- Prepare analyse and compose reports as required eg Income statement, balance sheets, cost reports
- Prepare annual budget submission
- Contribute to the development of accounting policies, procedures and guidelines for the business unit
- This position may have supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Accounting Degree
- 6-10+ years of of accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in statutory reporting requirements
- SAP
- Microsoft Office
General Job Requirements
- This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
