Senior Underwriter, Commercial Insurance Specialty - Military Veterans

Chubb is currently seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter for our Commercial Lines Middle Market team in Nashville.

Position Description:
As a Senior Underwriter, your responsibilities will include managing a renewal book and generating new business. This role will focus on driving profitable growth with assigned agents and brokers. The products you will work with include Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and International insurance. Programs include both guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive structures. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, results-oriented, and possesses strong business and underwriting acumen.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Candidates should have experience in both Property and Casualty lines of business, with familiarity in global programs considered a plus.
• Underwriting responsibilities will include developing and negotiating pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for all new business and renewals while actively identifying opportunities for account rounding with other Chubb practices.
• Collaboration with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management will be essential.
• This role involves implementing and managing effective pricing and rate strategies that lead to profitability, book growth, and successful producer relationships.
• Strong sales and marketing skills are critical; the ability to demonstrate successful agency and broker management, including building and maintaining relationships with producers and customers, is essential.
• The ability to identify growth opportunities within new and existing production sources is important.
• Knowledge of marketing principles and pricing/rate strategies, as well as applying them to achieve underwriting profit, is required.
• A high degree of proficiency with the underwriting process, supported by a solid background in risk analysis, is expected.
• The ability to effectively interact with all customer levels and collaborate with a team of underwriters, claims personnel, and loss control experts is crucial.
• Knowledge and proficiency in technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies are necessary.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Proven marketing and negotiation skills are required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills are essential.
