General Foundry Operator - Military Veterans

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):
- Responsible for the production of molds and/or cores used in the casting process.
- Sets up all molding machines and machines used in the core production process.
- Cleans, dips, and assembles cores as needed.
- Follows department schedules to ensure timely flow of products to other areas within the Foundry.
- Performs limited preventative maintenance on core/molding machines.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Follows all company and departmental safety procedures.
- Education /Training
- What education and education level are necessary for the position? How many years of professional experience in a specific professional area are required for the position?
- High school diploma or GED is desired.
- Qualifications/Experience
- What qualifies an individual to fulfill this position?
- Demonstrated application of team and communication skills, ability to learn company and departmental safety procedures, and have the ability to thoroughly understand applicable ISO procedures and work instructions.
- Background in labor-intensive work.
- Ability to learn to clean, dip, and assemble cores.
- Ability to understand the company's departmental scheduling system.
- Ability to learn to operate all equipment necessary for the effective flow of materials through the department.
- Ability to transfer shells ranging in weight from 10 to 125 lbs. and ability to pick up shells that can weigh up to 75 lbs. (average 35 lbs.) to transfer from one cart to another.
