Position Summary The Washington Early Recognition Center (WERC) at Washington University is seeking a dedicated Staff Therapist to provide clinical care to young individuals (ages 13-25) who are experiencing early-stage psychosis or are at risk of developing psychotic disorders.

This role involves delivering individual therapy, offering education and support to families, and working closely with the clinic's treatment team. The therapist will also conduct detailed behavioral assessments and address patient's psychosocial needs, helping them access appropriate services and support. Opportunities for involvement in research related to psychosis and early intervention may be available.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychotherapy to individuals aged 13-25 in the early stages of psychosis or at high risk.
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to guide treatment planning.
  • Support and educate families in understanding and managing early psychosis.
  • Coordinate closely with the psychiatrist and a small clinical team to ensure effective, integrated care.
  • Assist patients with psychosocial needs, including access to community resources.
  • Involvement in research projects related to early intervention and psychosis.
  • Administrative tasks.

  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range $27.00 - $41.87 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
