Position Number: 007597 Department: College of Science (Col) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 9 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics starting August 2025. We seek candidates whose research is in applied mathematics with a focus in scientific computing and numerical analysis such as numerical differential equations and scientific machine learning, or related areas where computation plays a central and essential role, emphasizing analysis, development, and implementation of theoretically justified and efficient algorithms. Minimum Experience / Education: UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: Required qualifications include a doctoral degree in mathematics. A commitment to establishing a productive research program. A commitment to excellence in teaching and advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preferred qualifications include excellent research and teaching experience in computational mathematics. Evidence of potential to obtain external funding. Experience in teaching large classes. Experience in supervising undergraduate students. Provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.
