Full-Time, Teaching-Track Faculty Position in Spatial Sciences | University of Southern California (USC) - Military Veterans

The University of Southern California Spatial Sciences Institute, located in Los Angeles, California, invites applicants for a full-time teaching-track faculty position in the ranks of lecturer, assistant professor (teaching), associate professor (teaching), professor (teaching), assistant professor of the practice, associate professor of the practice and professor of the practice, for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Institute, housed in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, provides world-class education for scores of working professionals, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students. Today, it offers a Ph.D. in Population, Health and Place; a doctoral-level Graduate Certificate in Spatial Analytics; an M.S. in Global Security Studies; an M.S. and four Graduate Certificates in Geographic Information Science and Technology; an M.S. in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence; an M.S. in Spatial Data Science, an M.S. in Spatial Economics and Data Analysis; a B.S. in Geodesign; a B.S. in Global Geodesign; a B.S. in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence; a Minor in Spatial Studies; a Minor in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence; and a Minor in GIS and Sustainability Science. In addition, the Institute offers several large-scale general education courses with a spatial sciences foundation. The successful candidate will have substantive expertise and demonstrated excellence in teaching in the Institutes core areas of geographic information science and place, along with the accompanying geospatial technologies. In particular, the Institute has priority on expertise and experience in human security and geospatial intelligence, spatial computing, spatial data acquisition, spatial data science and spatial economics. This position may also be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: geodesign; human security and geospatial intelligence; population, health and place; remote sensing and Earth observation; spatial computing; spatial data acquisition; spatial data science; and spatial economics and data analysis. Review of candidates starts immediately and continues until the positions are filled. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field at the time of appointment.
