STORE/LEAD RECEIVER - Military Veterans

Provide customer service. Supervise and complete all transactions with 3rd party vendors. Monitor total store conditions, and follows through to maintain standards. Monitor and controls inventory. Practice safe food handling guidelines. Supervise and direct operation of the night crew and 3rd party vendors. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity including Computer Assisted Ordering and balance on hand (BOH) accuracy
- Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product received
- Process damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperwork
- Assist with markdowns and 5S process(sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain) of markdown locations
- Ensure inventory management for all delivered product
- Manage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) ad plan, inventory and ad space on sales floor
- Scan DSD out of stocks and communicate with vendors
- Maintain excellent 5S standards in receiving and backroom area
- Ensure all vendors follow company policies and procedures including vendor dress code
- Assist with scheduling routine price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
- Assist with planning, organizing and supervising the inventory process
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Assist with perishable donation program
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
- Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly to provide a smooth transition of the products/merchandise into the store and inventory logs
- Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair e.g. power mule and hand jack
- Ensure maximum security of receiving area and backroom
- Develop and train Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Receiver back up
- Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates and vendors
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals
- Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process
- Assist in other departments when needed
- Attend required classes and meetings
- Prepare for and performs quarterly inventory of department
- Unload groceries and operates checkout terminal; executes monetary transactions for customer as needed
- Bag groceries and loads into shopping carts as needed
- Evaluate, prepare, and review associate performance evaluations with associates
- Investigate, determine action to be taken, and proceed with progressive discipline of associates
- Train new and promoted associates
- Communicate information to upper management and store personnel
- Enforce company policy and procedures and union contracts (if applicable)
- Review department statements and follows through on discrepancies
- Review time cards and follows through as needed
- Review department bulletins, follows through and implements all company programs
- Monitor and control shrink and expenses
- Complete required forms
- Determine emergency situations and contacts proper personnel
- Monitor and maintain security in store while in charge
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read a technical manual, retain and comprehend
- Basic math functions; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Writing skills to complete forms for budgets, inventories, orders, and reports
- Utilizes good customer service skills
- Demonstrates ability to read and write
