Overview
This individual will provide legal and strategic support to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) strategic business units on government contract, commercial, and regulatory issues. They will safeguard our reputation by ensuring that the company complies with applicable and give legal advice to management on relevant issues.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develops and reviews the organization's policies, practices, and guidelines.
- Assists in protecting the organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law.
- Provides counsel to senior leadership.
- Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance.
- Assists or represents the organization in business negotiations.

Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and State Bar membership required.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in relative fields is required.
- Government Contracts experience is preferred.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in compliance management, due diligence, and issue resolution.
- Experience in legal document review, legal research, legal writing, legal-contracts review.
- Knowledge or Experience with litigation case management, negotiation, operations management, regulatory environment, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, legal advising, corporate governance, and Legal Case Management Software.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- 25-50% Travel is likely.
