Key Job Responsibilities
Direct the Komatsu Way: Safety First, Law compliance, Quality of parts and service, Delivery of parts and service on-time, Cost management, Cash management including inventory and receivables.
Prepare the annual Business Plan for the region; report out monthly and incorporate it into the company’s objectives. P&L Management and Budgeting. Departmental cost management. Monthly business performance report out.
Administer the regional strategic objectives in support of the goals of the company.
Ensure the regional financial targets and objectives are met through active management.
Direct the activities of all regional departments including Operational Excellence improvements.
Establish customer relations at various levels within their organization; understand customer business drivers and their decision-making process. Business driver for sales growth and operations fulfillment.
Prepare capital requests for additional resources with full business justification.
Leadership: management team development including mentorship, visible leadership, and working with functional leaders including succession planning.
Provide interoffice communication regarding customer issues and review potential opportunities. Address customers’ needs and issues with other departments (Tech Service, Operations, and Product Support).
Manage and direct involvement with the support vendors, strategic partners, and industry associations to compliment the Komatsu business. i.e. Mining Association, Komatsu factories, Hensley, etc.
Champion change initiatives using good change management methodologies and tools.
Direct the business activities at the facilities in Mesa.
Active positive community involvement. Drive compliance with all local, regional and national laws and rules.
Qualifications/Requirements
4 year college degree; Engineering degree preferred (mechanical or electrical).
Mining equipment background preferred.
2-5 years’ experience with related products and mineral processing, maintenance and operations.
Field Service & Field Service project management experience.
10+ years manufacturing or service management.
Proficient with MS Office, Autocad and use of internet-based sales support programs.
Ability to diffuse emotionally charged situations.
Ability to coordinate customer needs after-hours.
Travel required.
MSHA Certified or ability to obtain certification.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers. In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites. We have approximately 1,200 employees.
Our group supports field operations at the customer mine sites as well as shop operations at the Distribution and Service Centers. A large part of our workforce focuses includes technical trades.
