Early Childhood Educator - Early Childhood Teacher will serve as an educator in an integrated classroom environment for children with and without developmental delays as part of the Nisonger Center's full day Early Childhood Program working closely with an Early Intervention Specialist; supervises and integrates daily and long-term planning for the classroom in collaboration with a support team and other classroom team members; assesses children's growth and development using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS) Curriculum; provides and ensures social, emotional, physical and educational needs of children are met based on the Nisonger Center's philosophy, curriculum policies and state licensing rules; plans and executes daily activities in the classroom; develops and writes lesson plans that provide for cognitive, physical, emotional and social development of children in assigned group; implements, evaluates and communicates classroom programming, routines, policies and procedures; conducts program evaluation and systematic data collection; prepares written summaries based on curriculum and children's daily educational experiences; implements health, safety and security processes and procedures; advises, instructs and supervises student teachers, written plans and classroom behavior; provides in-service and pre-service training for students; evaluates knowledge and performance competencies of students; participates in professional development activities. Schedule: This position will work Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm. Required Qualifications Associate degree in child development or early childhood education preferred. Minimum two years of experience in at least one of the following areas required: demonstrated classroom experience teaching children under six years, formal student teaching experience, or P-3 certification. Experience working with young children with developmental delays preferred. Experience creating and implementing lesson plans and managing classrooms required. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and staff required. Current first aid, communicable diseases, and child abuse recognition certifications or training within 120 of employment required; must have up-to-date immunizations. All employees are required to obtain (to meet Ohio childcare licensing Rules) criminal background check and medical examination. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
