Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking talented and motivated Engineering Interns to join our team!
We are seeking an Electrical/RF Engineering Intern to provide spectrum engineering support to our various Federal, DoD, and commercial satellite customers. Under immediate supervision, supports more senior engineers by performing analyses to determine the potential for radio frequency interference (RFI) between various geostationary and non-geostationary satellite systems. Supports senior technical personnel and project managers within own organization in various technical activities related to spectrum support for satellite systems. Receives immediate supervision from management as well as technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff.
HII's expertise in wireless communication includes 50+ years of performing RF Engineering for DoD, gov. agencies, and commercially both in the US and overseas, analyzing, and formatting spectrum data, including frequency assignment, spectrum certification, LiDAR, and other geo-referenced data. Our Scientists and Engineers support diverse tasks such as spectrum forensics and deconfliction, testing for coverage amid urban clutter, and antenna site planning. HII's RESED team offers opportunities from projects supporting international satellite coordination in space to countering IEDs. Our work is increasingly important in a world that depends on well-coordinated, interference-free spectrum access.

What you will do:
Internships are available to help students gain real-world experience in the work force.
- The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.
- Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
What we are looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed.
- Working towards degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math or a related field
- Knowledge of the basic principles of electrical engineering, computer engineering, or embedded systems
Bonus points for:
- Previous internship experience
- Coursework or experience with radio frequency, spectrum engineering, or RFI
Physical Requirements
- Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
