DoD Skillbridge Operations Track - Military Veterans

at PCC Airframe Products Segment

As a Department of Defense (DoD) Skillbridge candidate in Manufacturing Operations, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and practical training in various aspects of manufacturing within our organization. This program is designed to provide transitioning service members with valuable skills and experience to prepare them for successful civilian careers in manufacturing.


Responsibilities:




  1. Manufacturing Process Support:



    • Assist in the execution of manufacturing processes under the guidance of experienced personnel.

    • Learn and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various manufacturing operations.

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production and quality standards are met.






  2. Quality Control and Assurance:



    • Participate in quality control activities, including inspections and testing of manufactured products.

    • Learn to identify defects and deviations from specifications and assist in implementing corrective actions.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and process efficiency.






  3. Production Planning and Scheduling:



    • Assist in production planning activities, including scheduling and prioritizing manufacturing tasks.

    • Learn to interpret production schedules and assist in coordinating resources to meet production targets.

    • Gain exposure to inventory management systems and assist in inventory control activities as needed.






  4. Safety and Compliance:



    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

    • Learn about regulatory compliance requirements related to manufacturing operations.

    • Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the implementation of safety initiatives.






  5. Documentation and Reporting:



    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of production activities, including batch records and manufacturing logs.

    • Learn to generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality metrics, and efficiency.

    • Contribute to the preparation of presentations or documents summarizing project outcomes or learnings.







Qualifications:



  • Currently serving in the U.S. military with approval to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program.

  • Interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing operations upon completion of military service.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles and processes is preferred but not required.
