Responsibilities
About the Role:
End User Computing (EUC) Engineer level III works with business clients, IT departments, and vendors to maintain the end user technology stack specifically Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), View, and Azure Windows Virtual Desktops (WVD) the operating system, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Windows Operating Systems, and mobile device management. EUC Engineers work with multiple administrative systems to maintain the integrity of the overall end user infrastructure as well as create and develop new solutions. .
- Administrate and support GM Financial virtual desktops on premises and in the Cloud
- Support Citrix, VMware, and Azure virtual desktops
- Support and maintain the global end user computing (EUC) platforms insuring high performance and reliability
- Plan, architect, design, document and implement EUC platforms, operating system, enterprise software, and peripheral upgrades to improve services provided to business clients
- Proactively identifies opportunities for improvements to existing processes and for automation
- Perform or assist with routine EUC administration tasks, as necessary, to assure the reliable operation of the global end user computing platforms, including routine operations system and software updates
- Work ticketing queues to provide timely resolution for end users and document all work
- Perform root cause analysis as needed for end user related issues
- Perform critical system changes after business hours and participate in an on-call support rotation for providing after-hours support
- Author policy, procedure and standards documents
- Effectively communicates current status of all projects, problems, and issues to the department Manager or AVP
- Study and analyze the performance and capacities of the systems and peripherals to prepare plans for future expansion and upgrades
Qualifications

- Advanced knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure
- Advanced understanding of IT Service Management tools, ServiceNow
- Knowledge of the latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities
- Knowledge of IT security processes and controls as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge
- Knowledge of various protocols including and not limited to: HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, SSL, DNS, LAN, WAN, Routing, IP, DHCP
- Knowledge of Cloud and Cloud technologies and capabilities
- Technical knowledge of VDI technologies, VMware View, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
- Knowledge of VMware virtualization concepts, including provisioning and automation methods
- Knowledge of Netscaler or ADS (Application Delivery Services)
- Ability to think strategically and make collaborative decisions
- Advanced technical writing
- Communicates quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately and intelligently
- Creative, Innovative, problem-solving and maximizing your potential to solve problems and improve methods
- Advanced planning and time management
- Experience in document creation and ITSM ticket management

- Information security standards/frameworks (ie, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO) skills
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred
- 3-5 years experience in Information Technology and managing VMWare virtualization technologies, including Desktop virtualization required
- 5-7 years administration of small to medium size Citrix environments on an Enterprise scale preferred
- 0-2 years cloud virtualization preferred
- Citrix certification preferred
- Azure Fundamentals preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY
GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada. In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015. In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.
