Service Garageman - Military Veterans

Responsibilities:
• Perform Pre-trip inspection and documenting defects using Allegiance trucks check sheet
• Perform Road test on Allegiance’s Customer trucks
• Coordinate with Our Service Department and Shop Foreman to move trucks in and out of the Dealership
• Pull trucks out of our storage yard in the morning and put away trucks in the evening following Dealership process
• Periodically Deliver trucks to Allegiance’s Customer
• Other Duties as assigned
• Keep shop area and yard clean.
Requirements:
• Ability of speak and Write in English Language (required)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Valid New York State Commercial driver's license (CDL) required
• 3+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
• Physically and mentally fit
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. at a time
• Possess great physical stamina and focus during driving
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Able to operate a forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
• Map reading and route planning experience
• An innate sense of direction
• Self-starter who works well independently
• Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
• High level of composure and good stress management
Commitments:
• Be early, flexible and available for scheduling (Current weekly schedule is as follows: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm/ 4:00pm to 12:30am, possibly starting earlier or staying later than schedule Monday thru Friday and Saturday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
• Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously and with dignity
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, other employees and owners
• Maintain up to date O.E.M.’s service Specialist certification.

• Be neat and clean
• Demonstrate an interest in growing the dealerships business
