Job Mission
The optical sensing engineering Intern shall assist with the development of next-generation optical and metrology sub-systems for the creation and control of EUV radiation and supports the design & integration of innovative core technology elements and/or system concepts into engineering solutions.
Role and responsibilities
Develop, test, qualify, and implement a metrology subsystem concept in a lab environment
Develops new optical sensing solution concepts to issues that impact design/manufacturing successes or to address future products or technologies
Quantify metrology characteristics of existing modules via data collection analysis
Education and Experience
Currently pursuing a degree in Optics, Engineering, or Physics
Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs
Familiarity with 1 of the following: imaging systems, laser systems, image/signal processing
Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time
Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong problem solving sills and the ability to take initiative

Other Information
This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
