Requisition Number: S_241018 Department: Sponsored Programs-0982 Description of Work: The Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking to hire two Project Specialist professionals at one of two levels: Project Specialist I: Perform financial management activities for gifts, grants and contracts received by UNL . Advise staff on compliance issues with guidance of your supervisor or other OSP mentors. Process and close awards. Prepare financial reports and serve as a Sponsored Programs office liaison to funding sources under the guidance of OSP supervision. Project Specialist II : Perform financial management activities for gifts, grants and contracts received by UNL . Advise and train staff on compliance issues. Process and close awards. Prepare and sign financial reports and serve as a Sponsored Programs office liaison to funding sources. This position may be considered for remote work in accordance with the University of Nebraska's Alternative Worksite program. Minimum Required Qualifications: Project Specialist I: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or related field plus one (1) year of experience with common PC applications, word processing and accounting; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated ability to stay on top of project tasks appropriately throughout project timeline. Ability to access database warehouse for information to help make the job tasks easier. Good organization and communication skills. Project Specialist II: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in an accounting, educational or governmental office setting and with transactions/reports commonly used for research administration; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Experience with accountancy. Demonstrated ability to stay on top of project tasks appropriately throughout project timeline. Ability to access database warehouse for information. Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations Uniform Guidance, FAR clauses, and CFR . Knowledge of federal agency-specific rules and requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Project Specialist I: Bachelor's degree. Experience working with grants or a university or state setting. Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, FAR clauses, CFR and SAP . Project Specialist II: Bachelor's degree. Experience in a university or state grants setting. Post Award grant management experience. Experience with all Microsoft Office products, SAP and UNL database warehouse. CRA and/or CGFM certification. Posted Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience Job Type: Full-Time
