Responsibilities
About the role:
Our Protection Account Manager Strategic Sales Program is a 4-month developmental program that prepares participants for a Protection Sales Representative territory assignment upon completion of onboarding based on business needs. Team members will participate in corporate training, job shadows, role plays, and assessments to prepare for the consultative field assignment. The team member will also travel to dealerships for up to one week at a time to provide temporary training and coaching across the contiguous United States in advance of territory assignment. There will be frequent travel throughout this program to develop strong personal networks of business professionals within GM Financial and the automotive industry. Long term career mobility is a requirement for Account Managers with GM Financial.
In this role you will:
- Perform in-dealership one-on-one training and menu selling demonstrations
- Model and refine GM Financial F&I sales process with dealer and customers to increase effectiveness, compliance, and demonstrate profit potential and customer satisfaction
- Provide guidance on effective turnover processes between Sales and F&I, customer interview, menu presentation, and closing techniques
- Demonstrate best practices of available reporting tools and dealer-facing systems (without working in dealer systems, printing documents, or customer signatures)
- Utilize the Strategic Development Manager (SDM) support team to maximize dealer performance, providing upfront expectations and ongoing communication
- Participate in new account acquisition process activities
- Communicate updates and opportunities using the internal CRM system and directly to Regional Sales Manager
- Analyze dealer-specific data using reporting tools and take appropriate action
- Work to resolve dealership issues related to billing, systems, contracts in transit, etc
- Identify and resolve dealer issues presenting excessive risk to GM Financial
Qualifications

- Automotive dealership experience with a desire to build relationships in a consultative sales role managing a territory.
- Long-term mobility is beneficial for career development and advancement within the sales organization at GM Financial.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, though extensive relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Knowledge of dealership operations required; in-dealership F&I experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred
- A proven track record of quality sales performance and client satisfaction; B2B preferred
Working Conditions:
- This PAM role is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX, during the 4 months of training and will require extensive travel including overnight stays.
- The base salary is $75,000 a year plus annual bonus. We provide corporate housing for candidates and a pool vehicle during the duration of the training if applicable.
- This is a field-based role requiring operation of a GM company vehicle assigned to you for business and personal use. You will be required to have a current valid state issued driver's license.
- Once the PAM training is complete and you are deployed to an assigned territory, you will be assigned a company vehicle.
- At the end of the training, you must be willing to relocate to "Anywhere USA" which is anywhere we have a territory in the US. Where you will be placed will be determined at a later date based on company needs, not personal preference.
- GMF offers a sign-on bonus to assist with relocation expenses based on miles from Fort Worth, TX. The sign on bonus must be utilized to permanently relocate to the assigned territory.
- This role will require overnight travel upon final relocation to an assigned territory, as well as the need to respond to dealers outside of normal business hours.

Salary
The starting pay for this role is: USD $75,000.00/Yr. At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
