Description: The African American Academic Network promotes success and high impact engagement for students of African descent through comprehensive advising, developmental programming, student advocacy and structured learning experiences within an inclusive community. The candidate is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive academic support initiatives tailored to enhance the educational experience and success of African American students. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost of Student Success and Belonging, the Director plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes multiculturalism and academic achievement. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree Required Experience in providing educational support programs, with at least five years in a leadership role. Knowledge of student retention strategies and experience with academic advising and peer tutoring. Experience in hiring, training, and developing staff to support diverse student populations effectively. Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability in scholarly writing.
