Material Handler I

The compensation for this position is based on skill. A Material Handler I makes $23.36 per hour and a Material Handler III makes $28.09 per hour. What you will own:
- Good Receipts: Using SAP and you will receive in goods via vendors packing list and verify that they are free of defects and accurate according to our material master.
- Material Handling: Use powered industrial vehicles to move material in, out and around the factory to the right place at the right time.
- Shipment Preparation: Under the supervision of team leads and supervisor you will pack orders according to ISO Quality procedures for customer deliver. This entails packaging parcels in cardboard boxes to building crates for overseas shipments.
- Communicate: Identify discrepancies with incoming goods and communicate with sourcing and planning to get material reconciled.
- Previous experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP
- How to build working relationships with cross functional teams.
- You are a self-starter and can manage you day to day responsibilities with little oversight.
- You have a minor understanding of Excel/Word/Power point
- Experience with hand tools, power tools and Powered Industrial Vehicles.
- Knowledge of packaging parcels for UPS and FedEx shipments.
- How to communicate with multiple departments to meet material delivery needs.
- Exposure to an engineering-to-order environment and SAP MRP/ERP, Enovia PLM, internal Wiki documentation and a tight knit collaborative working environment.
- Process improvement and how to work on a cohesive team
- Material throughput with minimal quality notifications
- Support of department tasks to provide on time customer delivery.
- Ability to stay on task and complete with minimal to no supervision.
- Ability to understand inventory movements including consumptions, goods receipts, transfers, etc..
This role reports to the Material Control, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team helping achieve departmental and company goals. Other team members include: Production Control Planning, Material Requirements Planner, Industrial Engineer and Master Scheduler.
