Electrical Revit Designer - Military Veterans

job summary:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Revit Designer with experience in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to join our client's team in Taylor, TX. This role involves creating detailed Revit drawings for electrical systems and collaborating closely with field coordinators, project managers, and electricians to deliver high-quality construction deliverables. The ideal candidate will have Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and VDC experience, along with a deep understanding of the construction process.

responsibilities:

• Perform 3D modeling, meshing, and extractions of equipment and infrastructure using VDC methods.


• Read and understand construction documents including specs, floor plans, and elevation plans.


• Develop methods of automation for schedule tracking and improve workflow efficiencies.


• QA/QC Procedures: Maintain quality assurance/quality control procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in deliverables.


• Lead coordination meetings with various teams to deliver feedback, collaborate, and resolve design issues.


• Work closely with field coordinators to improve the quality of deliverables, including scanning, registering, and modeling.


• Develop professional Revit drawings from engineering sketches and concepts, and update as-built models per electrician and project manager feedback.


• Utilize and keep up-to-date with Revit, AutoCAD, and other drafting technologies to increase productivity.


• Actively collaborate with field electricians, project managers, and other departments on project assignments.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree or High School Diploma (required).


• 3+ years of experience in VDC, with knowledge of construction layout, surveying, and engineering drawings.


• 3+ years of Revit MEP experience in electrical design/modeling.


• 2+ years of visual code development and integration (Visual Code/Dynamo).


• Experience in electrical drafting, including high/low voltage and power distribution systems.


• Experience with AutoCAD (2+ years) and Revit routines to automate drafting processes (preferred).

Skills & Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of VDC principles and construction processes.


• Familiarity with Trimble systems and associated applications.


• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


• Experience with Navisworks is a plus.


• Basic understanding of electrical medium voltage and distribution system configurations.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
