Responsibilities

About The Role

The Vendor Operations Manager supports the company's originations and funding efforts and serves as a primary point of contact for business system support, vendor integration, and project facilitation. This team member will lead a team responsible for overseeing all projects in the areas of business process evaluation, process improvement, product development, and implementation of GM Financial's originations focused initiatives as they pertain to funding origination systems. The areas supported include US Loan Services operations, product development, origination systems (internal and external), vendor integration and compliance, system process analytics, project facilitation, and quality assurance. These responsibilities will be achieved by having extensive knowledge of the supported products and applying functionality from these products to achieve required business process improvements. This team member will have frequent contact with other company departments. The Vendor Operations Manager will also work closely with external vendors to develop efficient and cost effective processes that benefit various Loan Services groups and manage the invoice reconciliation process. The ability to lead in a fast paced, complex environment while managing multiple direct reports and multiple large-scale projects is required.

In This Role You Will:


  • Lead the team in identifying and analyzing existing Loan Services operational and system processes to identify opportunities for improvements that reduce expenses and increase efficiencies via automated and/or outsourced processes while mitigating risk

  • Maintain current knowledge of State, Provincial, and Federal regulatory requirements relating to both consumer and commercial APR, Balloon, and Lease documentation, lien perfection, vendor management and GM Financial operating policies and procedures

  • Establish and maintain ongoing communications with the business process owners, management, stakeholders and cross-functional support teams (internal and external) serving as key subject matter expert and contact for supported products

  • Serve as a point of escalation on production system issues that have greater complexity or wide-spread impact, and partner with ITS and supported business units to investigate

  • Identify and prioritize system enhancement requirements for future releases

  • Manage multiple project teams (both internal and external) in defining, documenting, and testing business and system functional requirements

  • Generate and distribute scheduled and ad hoc reports to management as needed using reporting tools and languages such as SQL or SAS

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge of supported products and supported business processes

  • Promote a positive work environment which fosters teamwork and empowerment

  • Mentor and assist with development of direct reports by establishing clearly defined requirements for progression and promotion

  • Act as lead contact and relationship manager for external partners and vendors

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key vendor staff for timely and effective issue resolution

  • Manage and analyze the invoice reconciliation process and identify opportunities for cost effectiveness and increase efficiencies within the process


Qualifications

What Makes You a Dream Candidate:

  • Advanced knowledge of account management systems, primarily Provenir, CPW, and AS

  • Advanced knowledge of communications principles and practices

  • Advanced knowledge of GM Financial contract funding

  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting and contract funding processes, policies, and guidelines

  • Advanced working knowledge of reporting systems and languages to include SQL and SAS

  • Must have a good understanding of Dealer Service's operations

  • Understanding of systems that cover GM Financial's entire branch and funding operations

  • User knowledge of underwriting and contract funding

  • Working knowledge of effective fraud investigation/verification processes, tools, and resources

  • Advanced understanding of auto finance industry loan operations

  • Detail oriented with a keen focus on accuracy and effective reporting

  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project Management skills

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Ability to select, lead, evaluate, and develop employees


Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred

  • 5-7 years increasingly responsible experience in Project Management, Vendor Relations, and/or Business Systems Support auto lending experience or equivalent preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY
