- Supports new application development, including system analysis, planning, and preparation. 2. Demonstrates extraordinary ability to perform the technical skills of the job. 3. Works with Nurse Applications Specialist I to enhance technical and analytical skills, provide support and recommendations, and participate in design and code walkthroughs. 4. Designs, programs, and tests conversions, interfaces, reports, and other computer programs according to departmental standards. 5. Analyze the need to develop in-house programs to support the new system, including programs needed to convert data from the old system to the new system. 6. Identify and recommend workflow, procedures, forms, and data changes to optimize the new system's use. 7. Provides Epic product function and design and builds expertise and experience needed for successful implementation. 8. Assists in resolving major design issues and presents options for resolution. 9. Analyze business processes to ensure proper system configuration. 10. Logs, tracks, and resolves issues and changes regarding software code modifications or enhancements. 11. Meets with users to determine specifications of hardware or software needs. 12. Informs management of all issues impacting or impacting assigned area/s. 13. Creates and maintains regular status reports to the immediate Applications Coordinator. 14. Attend weekly meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, changes, communications, and updates. 15. Completes specific task activities as documented on the Work Plan. 16. Works with the training team to develop application-specific training curriculums and materials. 1 17. Supports all project team members with application and information systems knowledge. 18. Promotes a team atmosphere that is conducive to the overall accomplishment of goals, schedules, and deadlines. 19. Openly shares information with all team members. 20. Willingness to subordinate individual goals to team goals. 21. Documents and maintains all required system design, builds documents, and configures system accordingly. 22. Contributes to preparing testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks. 23. Provides expertise and experience in developing a production environment readiness plan. 24. Provide training to other IT staff and user clients as appropriate. 25. Coordinates interactions and activities of vendors, both on-site and off-site. 26. Work closely with end users to identify business needs and benefits of implementing a computing solution and strive to understand their needs. Required Skill/ability 1: Demonstrated ability to configure, build & install the application. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and ability to deal with simultaneous tasks, communicate effectively, problem solve, and develop creative solutions to complex problems required. Required Skill/ability 2: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and listening skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking, and the ability to inspire others are required. Required Skill/ability 3: Must possess high customer service skills and be a strong, collaborative team player. Required Skill/ability 4: Working knowledge or experience in Microsoft Office tools and an understanding of computer system capabilities to address process requirements required. Required Skill/ability 5: EPIC certification is preferred; otherwise needs to be obtained within first three months of employment. Preferred Education: Three years of clinical experience.
