Position Number: 001506 Department: College of Business (Col) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 9 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems in the department of BISOM . The successful candidate for this position will engage in high quality research, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate in departmental governance and service activities. Candidates will be expected to develop a research record of publication in top tier journals and a track record of teaching excellence. The teaching load is highly competitive and will include courses in the interdisciplinary program in Data Science and Business Analytics, as well as traditional undergraduate and graduate courses within the Business College. Service to University, the Public, and the Profession all tenured and tenure-track faculty are expected to engage in a program of service appropriate to their discipline. Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to service may include but are not limited to: service to the administration and governance of the University, public service, and service to the profession. Minimum Experience / Education: UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: The position requires a doctorate in data science and business analytics, information systems, or closely related field. All degree requirements are expected to be completed by the time of appointment. Applicants must have research and teaching interests in business analytics. Candidates should have begun to establish a record of excellence in both research and teaching, or show evidence of this potential. Candidates will be expected to develop a research record of publication in top tier journals and a track record of teaching excellence. The teaching load is highly competitive and will include courses in the interdisciplinary program in Data Science and Business Analytics as well as traditional undergraduate and graduate courses within the Business College. Prior teaching experience in business analytics is preferred. This is a tenure track position with a competitive salary.
