NYU Langone Health Rusk Rehabilitation is working in partnership with local Sub Acute facilities to provide
exceptional Physiatry services.
The role of the Sub Acute Rehabilitation (SAR) physiatrist would be to consult on all new admissions from NYU
and other referring institutions and follow up as needed. Collaborate with unit Medical Directors to identify
comorbidities that affect the overall care model. This physician will liaise with the facility care team and the
NYU Care Transitions team on case management, guiding therapy course and length of stay. The position is
also responsible for patient/family education regarding rehab process, course, prognosis and follow up post
discharge. This role will provide essential post- Sub Acute Rehab discharge follow up appointments and work in
conjunction with the patient's PCP.
Candidates must be Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. A current, active and unrestricted Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) license to practice in NY and current DEA License is required. Prior experience in provision of care in sub-acute and outpatient settings is preferred. Salary range: $200,000 - $225,000. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
