The Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department is composed of approximately 185 people located in Tucson, AZ and Huntsville, AL. We develop new Control Actuation Systems (CAS) including Aerodynamic Tail Fin and Canard Steering Control Sections, Thrust Vector, Attitude and Divert Control Systems, Control Surface and Wing Deployment mechanisms, Stage Separation and Nosecone Ejection Systems, and more.
Job Summary:
The PCAS department is seeking a servo controls engineer for algorithm development and implementation in a variety of electromechanical assemblies. The individual will develop algorithms in Matlab/Simulink in conjunction with the Autopilot team. They will also interact with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities. Lastly, plan to perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab. The position requires a solid understanding of classical and modern control theory, experience with Matlab/Simulink and the ability to work with electrical and mechanical hardware.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Education: B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or related science degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
