Data Analyst SME - Military Veterans

The Alakaina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Data Analyst SME to support a potential customer of ours located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, OH .  DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in designing, formulating, conducting, and leading data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the DAF total force population. Use judgement and originality in developing innovative approaches to define and resolve highly complex situations. Have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. Assist in the management of the retrieval and integration of health information data, personnel records, deployment-related records, health surveillance registries, and other military-related data into useable format for end-users. Assist in data collection in support of the RHBA and FESO collaborative research. Complete Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative human subject use training (CITI training) and DAF Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training within the first month and maintain annual currency thereafter. The primary duties for this position cannot be carried out without this training. This course is required for investigators and staff conducting research with human subjects. Draft reports, prepare, and/or present reports, documents, and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the research and data analysis as requested, and meet RHBA projected suspense dates. Present results of studies or investigations through briefings, technical reports, and publication into scientific journals. Apply knowledge of science/technology to analyze and resolve multifaceted issues/problems with minimal guidance and collaborate with technical area stakeholders to develop strategies for effective execution within a particular technology area. Support the RHBA mission by coordinating the RHBA and FESO collaborative research projects. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Possess a minimum of a Masters’ degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, or Bioinformatics. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Have a minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience in advanced analytical skills to include visual analytics in population health and health data surveillance. Possess the ability to design, formulate, conduct, and lead data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the DAF total force population. Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint, and shall have experience to demonstrate expert knowledge in descriptive statistics, as well as SAS/SAS EG. Have demonstrated experience with writing technical documentation, research and development programs, and research reports. Examples may include functional requirements documents, test plans, human subjects protocols, technical reports, and training material. Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Must have prior US Military experience to be considered for this role. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience within a health analytics related field and working with DAF related data is desired.
