Application Specialist - Military Veterans

The Alakaina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Application Specialist - Part Time  to support our government customer located in Kaua'i, Hawai'i . Creates reports using HTML, .ASP, .Net, SQL, Java, VBx (Excel and MS Access). Assist in design, development, or modification of applications. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, deploy, and maintain reports from Oracle or MS SQL Server data sources using HTML, ASP, Net, SQL, Java, VB (Excel and MS Access) Assists in application design, development, deployment, and maintenance. Assist clients with MIS related problem analysis and resolution Performs systems debugging tests. Creates technical documentation for internal use Prepares and submits technically oriented status reports and briefs to management and customers Performs other duties as required.  Physical Elements:  Office conditions are varied and includes physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling up to 10 pounds. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, crawling, kneeling, stooping or cramped working places and work requiring repeated or frequent climbing. Environment will include customer contact and extended workdays in an office laboratory setting and sometimes field assignments in inclement weather. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A.S. Degree in Information Technology & two years of IT experience REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of IT experience or AS in IT & two (2) years of IT experience Two (2) years of directly related IT experience is required Strong computer skills and a basic understanding of Costpoint, Oracle or MS SQL Servers programming support languages (i.e. Java, Visual Basic, MS Access) REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE: Must be a U.S. Citizen Secret security clearance is required.
