Available Title(s): 284F-YNCSNPS - Patient Services Coordinator Business Title: Patient Services Coordinator-Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Employee Type: Classified Position Details: Summary of Duties: The position will coordinate and provide client support for the Emergency and Critical Care unit. Act as primary contact and liaison between general public, clients, referring veterinarians, and veterinary teaching hospital personnel; communicate with clients and referring veterinarians regarding hospitalized patients and follow-up patient care, follow-up diagnoses, diagnostic work-up, treatment (as deemed within the scope of knowledge of the PSC), cost estimates, cost updates, and hospital policy; communicate with the general public regarding Veterinary Teaching Hospital services, fees, and policies. Coordinate interdepartmental service consults and case transfers. Assist in orientating new rotation students by preparing appropriate orientation materials. Assist in orienting new interns, residents, students, and staff to the clerical operating procedures of the service. Required Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of general office experience or two years of office or customer service in a healthcare setting; OR equivalent education/experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in veterinary clinic/setting. Experience providing coordination and support activities to clients and clinicians.
