Section Head – Wastewater Services

Parsons is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Section Head – Wastewater Services to join our dynamic team in Dubai. In this role, you will lead wastewater planning and design services, overseeing a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality projects. You will be the primary interface with clients on all technical matters, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Organize and Manage Team: Lead the wastewater services team, coordinating all disciplines to achieve seamless integration of various project components.
- Technical Leadership: Direct technical engineering assignments and coordinate staffing for waste water projects, applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses.
- Client Interface: Act as the primary company representative with clients on all technical matters, including staffing assignments and deliverables.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure technical excellence in assigned engineering disciplines, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all technical documentation.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a group of engineers and designers, conducting performance evaluations, and recommending training and development opportunities.
- Performance Management: Take corrective actions as necessary, recommend promotions and salary adjustments, and manage training and development for assigned personnel.
- Business Development Collaboration: Work with business development teams to market and secure additional work with clients.
- Regulatory Negotiations: Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize current technology and engineering software, including design management and collaboration tools, to complete engineering assignments efficiently.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and engineering standards.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor and report on the progress of all project activities, including significant milestones and any conditions that may affect project cost or schedule.
- Quality Processes: Promote technical and commercial excellence on projects through the application of quality assurance processes.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a reputable institution (Master's Degree or higher preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering or land development design projects, focusing on wet utilities.
- Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent, with active membership in a professional engineering society.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities of specific engineering software, including design management and collaboration software.
- Leadership Ability: Proven ability to manage a large group of engineering and technical personnel, directing work involving complex technical situations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with clients, management, and project personnel on technical and non-technical subjects.
- Industry Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and standards.
- Advanced Engineering Skills: Capable of applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses within the wet utilities discipline.
