The Soft Services Manager: Cleanroom, Safety Shower/Eyewash will manage day to day site Cleanroom maintenance and Safety Shower/Eyewash inspection operations for a Global High Tech / Manufacturing client in the Hillsboro, Oregon area. This is a Site Leadership position with responsibilities to oversee complex Cleanroom scope and a large team. The Soft Services Manager will provide leadership and direction to teams of hourly technicians in a 24x7 environment. Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest level of client service available.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets overall vision and leadership for the Cleanroom, Safety Shower/Eyewash team.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with the Client.

  • Ensure all Client safety procedures are followed.

  • Manage scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of client Cleanroom, Safety Shower/Eyewash

  • Develops plans and programs in response to present and anticipated space and facility requirements. Prioritizes work based on the needs of the client and for the on-time completion of all work, as well as all documentation involved.

  • Ensures all subcontractors receive required training to perform the subcontracted services in accordance will all Amentum and client safety rules, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize data to monitor and continuously improve team and contractor performance in maintaining site resources.

  • Clearly understands Amentum scope of work and contract requirements for the area of responsibility

  • Facilitate site repairs by working with both internal technicians and external contractors to ensure completion in a timely and cost-effective manner. Continually evaluate and improve service delivery process and work.

  • Compiles, maintains, and presents various reports to Amentum management and client teams.

  • Coordinates activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment to minimize interruption and improve efficiency.

  • Prepares related reports and audits current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations.

  • Evaluates proposals and bids for various design, contracting, and follow-on services as required.

  • Responsible for the planning and completion of all of the chemical safety shower/eyewash preventative maintenance inspections on our client site. Ensure all PM compliance as directed by client and management.

  • Responsible for the planning and completion of a wide variety of general and preventative maintenance and repair work in a high-tech factory cleanroom environment on our client site. Perform periodic collection of data like factory temperature and humidity levels. Recommends bid acceptance.

  • Act as content expert for Cleanroom Building Maintenance activities at client site, understanding and training others in how to safely perform work at the client site.

  • Reviews reports of expenditures for previous year and proposed improvements on facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming year.

  • Ensures employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff.

  • Responsible for hiring, employee motivation, and counseling of employees supervised.

  • May assist in the design and development of new facilities.

  • Responsible for the enforcement of company security/safety policies and procedures.

  • May be responsible for the direction of security personnel and programs at company office facility.

  • Oversee Technician Training Program and ensure adequate staffing & skill sets. Develop personnel to maintain a high performing team.

  • Partner with other site managers to identify & develop cost reduction opportunities.

  • Maintain team performance indicators including but not limited to: Safety, Performance & Quality Indicators and WO completion rates.

  • Lead/assist in site incident investigation and generating After Action Reports (defining Root cause and corrective actions and systems improvements).

  • Partner with the Building Services and Facilities teams on cross functional maintenance activities.


Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • 4 years of experience in a technical role related to industrial Production Maintenance and/or industrial Facilities Maintenance, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 6 years experience managing teams of employees, including maintenance technicians and contractors.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment background check and substance abuse test.

  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.

  • Experience managing a culture of safety, including ensuring all work is performed in alignment with documented safety protocols and policies.

  • Demonstrated work experience in light building maintenance and knowledge of practices, policies, and procedures employed in maintenance of a complex facility.

  • Sense of urgency around customer needs to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Ability to be flexible and work well both independently and in a team environment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments under time constraints and changing priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience communicating complex ideas to a client management team.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Solid computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Five years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Industrial HVAC/ Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.

  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • May require additional licensing per state regulations.


Physical Requirements:
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.

  • Requires the ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as needed during a workday.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during workday.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.

  • Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.

  • Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.

  • Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.

  • Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.

  • Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.


Special Requirements:
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
