Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking an adaptable and self-motivated developer to join our team and become an integral part of our payroll system transformation as we move from On-Prem systems to Cloud-based applications. This Application Engineer will have a great opportunity to start at ground level as we move to the Cloud. An ideal Application Engineer candidate will also possess a strong ability to drive system improvements that enhance operational efficiency for our organization of over 350,000 employees.
The primary focus of the Application Engineer will be on development and system enhancements, collaborating closely with business owners to understand their needs. This involves query writing, program developments, managing internal and external integrations with vendors, and understanding the relationship between HR and Payroll systems integrations. As this team evolves to new technologies, there will be room for professional development and growth within the team.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems Development
- Design and create solutions to solve the business needs for our customers.
- Evaluate current technical process for improvements.
- Participate with the Product Analyst to create business requirements.
- Provide unit testing to ensure that the processing is complete prior to migrating the work to QA.
- Follow the development life cycle and adhere to the standard procedures.
- Work with other ERP teams to integrate new work in the existing processing schedule.
- Coordinate enhancements for existing or new systems interfaces.
- Monitor existing processes to ensure dependability and efficiency with other systems supporting business activities.
- Work with vendors on intern and external integrations and securing transfers
- Responsible for using state-of-the-art encryption to protect employee information
Diagnose and Resolve Systems Issues
- Research and resolve issues identified Lawson and Infor Cloud systems.
- Determine root causes for problems and implement improvements to prevent repeated occurrences.
- Provide system support, including on-call rotation
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1 or more years
OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced SQL query writing experience
- HTML, Java script, VB script, XML
- Infor Cloud Async Processing a plus
- Cloud certifications a plus
- Experience with a major database platform
- Microsoft Office Tools
- Unix
- GitHub
- Demonstrated ability to self-teach and adapt to new technologies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders
