The Driver is responsible for delivering merchandise to Customers within the expected time parameters. This position reports to the Transportation Manager, interacts with staff from other business units and departmental peers, and delivers to local customers on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Delivers merchandise according to the pre-determined route. Unloads correct merchandise and checks orders, noting any corrections. Completes all assigned reports and paperwork at the end of the day.Communicate with the manager about any system or documentation problems identified. Pickups returned merchandise per return authorization. Complies with all DOT regulations.Performs safety and housekeeping duties as they pertain to Edward Don & Company and OSHA standards. Effectively communicates verbally and in writing to customers and all levels of staff.Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements/skills, and physical obligations: High School diploma/GED equivalent is required. Minimum of 1 year of Commercial Driving experience. A current DOT requires Medical Certification (at all times). Ability to bend, stoop, climb, twist, and stand. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. while loading and unloading the truck. Maintain a safe driving record (at all times). Comply with all DOT regulations (at all times). Experience with multi-unit delivery preferred.
