Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Ensure proper set up of presses to attain production rates with minimal scrap.

2. Supply and stir ink wells as necessary.

3. Monitor and ensure print quality.

4. Wash print blankets and plates as necessary

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure all color heads not in use are cleaned and ready for the next production run.

2. Organize your work area and prepare for the setup of your next job.

3. Maintain your section in a clean and orderly fashion.

4. Ensure printing plates are cleaned after each use and returned to the proper location for Graphic Arts.

5. Complete a job tracking form in the plate job jacket.

6. Monitor the production schedule for special instructions.

7. Clean ink bowls and return them to the proper location.

Take plates and rollers out, and place back in, of the printers.

Qualifications

High school diploma / GED equivalent

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously

Prior printing experience with good mechanical ability

Taking necessary steps to become a certified Printing Pressman

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to climb ladders / steps

Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift

Ability to work in a dusty environment

Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 10 - 12-point font at 12 - 18 inches

Must pass the Ishihara and/or the Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test

Ability to reach and lift overhead
