Job Description:

The ideal candidate is safe, responsible, competent, efficient, detail oriented, possessing a strong work ethic and strong job ownership. The Environmental Scientist Task Manager position is for a front-line task manager in charge of day to day operations for remediation sites located in the SF Bay Area and the Central Valley. Primary duties include coordination and logistics management with a field team of environmental scientists, engineers and geologists. The position requires a background and knowledge in environmental regulations and compliance. Daily responsibilities can include coordination with regulatory agencies, analytical laboratories, legal entities, environmental consulting organizations and subcontractors. The role entails report writing, safety plan generation, data entry, document control and QAQC of analytical data. Solid organization, problem solving, personnel management, and time management skills are required. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple independent and interdependent tasks is required. Proficiency with the MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat is required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.


  • Environmental regulation evaluation and compliance implementation

  • Safety program implementation and safety statistics monitoring

  • Scheduling, logistics and coordination of field team, client, regulators, labs and subcontractors

  • Hazardous waste management

  • Generating and updating standard operating procedures for each site

  • Interpreting analytical results and compile data into tables

  • Writing reports and work plans,

  • Support other projects as needed, and

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a science curriculum related to the assigned discipline is required

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and experience in environmental compliance. (i.e. NPDES Permits, POTW Permits, DTSC, RWQCB, DEH, and APCD)

  • Hazardous waste management experience

  • Strong proficiency with the following software packages is required (Adobe Acrobat, M.S. Word, M.S. Excel, M.S. Outlook, M.S. PowerPoint)

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to understand and comply with verbal and written instructions is required

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain notes and records

  • Ability to accurately and efficiently generate written work products

Salary Range: 

$33.89 - $59.33
