The Honors College at Baylor University is committed to fostering a love of truth, kindling faith, and cultivating virtue in our students. We are seeking a new team member to support our recruitment and admissions efforts while growing professionally within our collaborative academic community.

Under the supervision of the Director of Enrollment Management, the Admissions Coordinator for the Honors College will support recruitment and admissions efforts by organizing and coordinating campus visits, managing prospective student inquiries, overseeing recruitment events and marketing strategies, reviewing student applications, and analyzing data to improve enrollment strategies. This role will work closely with the college's Recruitment Committee, which includes representatives from Admissions and each Honors College department, with a focus on supporting the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, ensuring a smooth and effective recruitment process for prospective students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

A Bachelor's Degree and two years relevant experience is required. A Masters degree is preferred. Education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United State on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Organize Honors College Campus Visits
  • Coordinate and schedule campus visits for prospective Honors College students, ensuring a positive and informative experience.
  • Work with faculty, staff, and current students to provide engaging visit experiences.

Manage Prospective Student Inquiries for the Honors College
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students and their families via email, phone calls, and in-person visits (pop-ins).
  • Counsel prospective students on Honors College offerings, including programs, courses, and other opportunities available to them.
  • Review new student applications to the BIC.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions in the admissions database (Slate).

Coordinate Honors College Recruitment and Strategic Retention Events
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Honors College recruitment events such as Distinguished Scholars Day, Invitation to Excellence, Premiere, Baylor Bound, Bear for a Day, Kaleidoscope, Orientation, Virtual Programs, and other related events.
  • Attend and advise BIC student-run Leadership Council (BICLC) events and activities.
  • Collaborate with event coordinators, faculty, and student volunteers to ensure successful events.
  • Attend all enrollment events and recruit faculty, staff, and student leadership to lead as well.

Assist with Slate Inquiries and Developments
  • Provide support in managing and updating the admissions database (Slate) for the Honors College each year.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Management, assist with troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to Slate.

Assist with Recruitment Marketing
  • Update and maintain websites for prospective students, ensuring accurate and engaging content.
  • Assist with the design and purchase of recruitment materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content.
  • Develop presentations and promotional materials to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Participate in social media campaigns and other digital marketing initiatives to attract prospective students.
  • Incorporate virtual engagement strategies such as online information sessions and webinars to adapt to the increasing reliance on digital platforms for college recruitment.

Data Analysis
  • In collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Management, assist with data collection and provide report writing for Honors College enrollment.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to implement data-driven decisions.

Support and Training
  • Assist the Director of Enrollment in providing training for HC departments and Admissions staff.
  • Seek support from HC departments and Admissions to enhance Honors College enrollment efforts.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure alignment and effective implementation of enrollment strategies.

Supervision and Coordination
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of a Student Assistant for Recruitment.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Assistant for Recruitment.

Other
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
