Assistant Training Manager / Instructional Designer Job ID: Location: Remote/Hybrid Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Category: Student and Educational Services Salary: $66,500 - $118,300 Full/Part Time: Full-time(100%) Organization: Planning Budget & Administration Department: Training & Education Dept Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Position Information: This position is based on funding from University of California Office of the President (UCOP). The full salary range for the Assistant Training Manager / Instructional Designer is $66,500 - $118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $97,840 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. As part of the recruitment process, a work sample and presentation(s) may be required from identified finalists. The Assistant Training Manager / Instructional Designer participates as a training, education, and instructional design professional in a systemwide program or project. The individual develops & delivers training (instructor-led and online), selects technologies and tools, creates supportive learning activities, and develops new training in response to the University's needs. In collaboration with others, the position also creates multimedia content and produces according to an established schedule. The individual will analyze needs and develop recommendations to address a wide range of training issues. The Assistant Training Manager / Instructional Designer also provides support for testing courses to ensure they are functional, designed with learning in mind, and compliant. The individual services on a Center of Excellence (COE) team on projects that will have University of California (UC) system wide impact. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Requirements: Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Advanced degree in education, instructional design or technology, public administration, safety, health, or related field. Preferred Experience Requirements 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required Minimum of 2 years of combined experience with eLearning authoring tools (such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate/Presenter, etc.), and video production software (such as Adobe Premier, Camtasia, etc.) Required Special Conditions Special Travel between university settings/locations/venues. Required Minimum Requirements Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills. Thorough knowledge of current training programs and trends. Thorough knowledge of applying adult learning theories and education methodologies. Thorough knowledge and skills with relevant software systems and content creation tools. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Thorough knowledge of delivering training programs and thorough knowledge of other areas of human resources. Strong skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new training courses to meet organizational needs. Thorough knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Strong skills in planning, resourcing and monitoring effective delivery of training. Thorough knowledge of training and development, performance management and workplace learning. Ability to apply knowledge to achieve successful organizational outcomes. University of California experience or familiarity with higher education institutions or non-profit organizations Strong skills with accessibility, WCAG, and/or Section 508 as it applies to eLearning or video.
