The Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination of manufacturing operations in carrying out production objectives. Coordinates the activities of production supervisors across three shifts to ensure production goals are met using efficient and cost-effective procedures and processes. Must take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.

What You'll Do:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of production operations.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinates the execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budget that relate to production needs.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production standards.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime.
  • Maintain existing equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant equipment when necessary.
  • Meets with vendors and/or customers to resolve problems, analyze production issues and/or clarify order requirements to increase efficiencies and to ensure timely production of parts.
  • Manage all production employees; responsible for performance management and assisting in the hiring of employees within the department.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing techniques and plant cleanliness among personnel.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.
  • Must maintain a good attendance record.

What We Need from You:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; at least eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • At least mid-level computer competency.
  • Exposure to specific industry management.
  • Safety goggles, hearing protections, steel-toe non-slip safety shoes, and occasionally rubber gloves and bump cap when on the shop floor. When handling sharp objects or parts, it is required that cut resistant gloves be worn.
