STS Aviation Services is rapidly expanding and looking for skilled Aircraft Check Managers to join our team at our Birmingham base maintenance operations. As the leading UK MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) provider, we are at an exciting phase of growth, and we are looking for experienced professionals to support our mission of delivering world-class maintenance services.

Job Summary:
As an Aircraft Check Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing allocated maintenance inputs. Your responsibilities will include ensuring regulatory compliance, managing staff, delivering projects on time, and maintaining the technical integrity of work performed under your supervision. You will work closely with the Base Maintenance Management team to achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Maintenance Inputs: Oversee and deliver allocated maintenance projects within the set schedule.
- Staff Leadership: Line manage team members within your designated area, ensuring clear task allocation and accountability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Issue certificates of release for specific aircraft types as per QA044 Staff Authorisation Document.
- Daily Reporting: Maintain progress logs and deliver daily briefings to senior management and staff.
- Problem Solving: Develop cost-effective solutions to deliver maintenance targets within budget constraints.
- Quality Control: Ensure work areas are clean and comply with all husbandry and tool audit requirements.
- Performance Management: Conduct formal staff appraisals and identify opportunities for further training and development.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all current Health & Safety procedures are followed, maintaining a duty of care for your team.
- Audit & Compliance: Support quality audit efforts and help implement robust closure plans for identified issues.
Skills & Experience:
- Category B Licensed Engineer with C certification by aircraft type.
- 737/A320 type ratings are essential; B787/B777/A330 ratings are desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Base Maintenance as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer.
- Strong working knowledge of Part 145 Aviation Legislation.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
