Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with 3+ years of technical experience in the food or beverage industry to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, ensuring optimal production efficiency, and adhering to food safety standards. This role requires strong accountability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage preventive maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and prioritize preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
Conduct maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure continuous operation of plant equipment and systems.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate external contractors and vendors for equipment installation, repairs, and facility needs.
Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, materials, and repair parts.
Assist in maintaining compliance with SQF Code Quality and Food Safety Systems to ensure both food safety and product quality meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that can be integrated into future systems.
Perform tasks related to dismantling, moving, installing, and repairing equipment and machinery.
Communicate technical issues effectively to staff and management, ensuring impacts on projects are understood and addressed.
Support the facility in maximizing production quality and quantity while aligning with company objectives.
Provide backup support as needed, with the Maintenance Manager taking over responsibilities when necessary.
Key Qualifications:
Preventive Maintenance: Strong knowledge of developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
Project Management: General project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying information to staff, management, and external parties.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
Accountability: Strong follow-through and attention to detail in completing tasks.
