Environmental Compliance Data Technician - Military Veterans

About the position:
The ENGINE environmental compliance data technician provides environmental compliance support for Chevron's operations, ensuring adherence to air, water, and waste regulations through systematic data collection and analysis. Responsibilities include preparing compliance reports, managing environmental incidents, and coordinating with external contractors and laboratories. Additionally, the position involves partnering with internal teams for environmental guidance, managing key contracts and budgets, and performing quality reviews to resolve environmental issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide environmental field compliance support for Chevron's operations supported by the Chevron ENGINE
- Provide guidance on the applicability of environmental regulations for air, water, and waste, and evaluate alternatives to meet compliance requirements
- Facilitate compliance with environmental permits, monitoring, reporting, and notifications, and coordinate with external contractors and laboratories as needed
- Ensure data collection methods and practices comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards
- Record and organize collected data systematically ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Analyze data trends and patterns to identify potential environmental issues and non-compliance
- Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with environmental permits and regulations
- Manage environmental data related to incidents, spills, remediation, and report to relevant authorities and stakeholders
- Partner with internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams, to provide environmental guidance and support
- Perform quality reviews and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve environmental issues and gaps
- Manage key environmental contracts and budgets and ensure cost-effective and quality service delivery
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, or auditing in the oil and gas industry, refinery, or manufacturing facility
- Proficient in interpreting and applying state and federal environmental regulations and standards for air, water, and waste
- Skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting to demonstrate environmental performance and compliance
- Minimal to no travel required
- Ability to conduct field reviews, identify and resolve environmental issues, and provide training and guidance on environmental best practices
