The Accounts Payable Lead is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing the daily processing of invoices, check requests, and related payments. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual with a strong focus on customer service and a collaborative team spirit.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and mentor the accounts payable team, providing training and support to enhance skills and performance.

  • Conduct electronic audits of jobsite-generated invoices in CMiC, ensuring all invoices are approved, accurately processed for payment, and include applicable sales tax.

  • Verify coding and approvals for overhead invoices.

  • Audit credit card statements for proper coding, approvals, business purposes, and correct amounts due.

  • Process miscellaneous invoices and owner-funded subcontractor invoices in a timely manner based on due dates.

  • Distribute checks as required.

  • Reconcile outstanding open payables.

  • Update subcontractor compliance documents in CMiC as contracts, insurance, and other relevant documents are received.

  • Review and process W-9 forms for new vendor setup.

  • Communicate with Project Accountants regarding invoice discrepancies, sales tax issues, documentation needs, and training requirements.

  • Reconcile vendor statements.

  • Extract accounts payable information from CMiC and compile reports.

  • Research outstanding checks and resolve issues.



Education and Work Experience:

  • Previous accounts payable experience in a mid to large-sized construction company.

  • Familiarity with 1099 forms and sales tax accrual.

  • Experience with CMiC (training available).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

  • Ability to work collaboratively and promote compliance with accounts payable policies and procedures.

  • Capacity to quickly understand processes and procedures for effective cross-training.
