Position Overview
We are seeking a research coordinator who speaks Spanish to join our IGDI Lab team. The coordinator will be employed at .50 time to support work within the Computer Adaptive Storybook Assessment (CASA) project. This position lasts the 2024-2025 academic year.
This project has developed a computer-adaptive language and early literacy storybook assessment for preschoolers who have limited language skills, delays or disorders, or are at risk for limited language development using a highly engaging, game-based application. Data collectors can give assessments in Spanish, English, or both languages. This position is in-person and will be housed at the Education Sciences Building.
Job Responsibilities
Research (100%)
- Conduct literature reviews
- Translate consent forms and family materials from Spanish to English
- Coordinate data collection in school settings, including communicating with teachers and supporting hourly data-collection employees
- Contribute to project dissemination efforts including technical reports, instructional videos, and resource materials for educators
- Organize and lead focus group sessions with educators
- Enter data and run descriptive analysis
- Communicate with IGDI Lab staff, attend all meetings
- Take notes at meetings and provide additional meeting support
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal 6 years.
- Spanish fluency (speaking, listening, reading, and writing)
- Interest in assessment and child development
- Experience with data collection, research methods, and writing
- Desire to work with educators and young children
- Reliable transportation for data collection efforts
- Attention to detail and autonomous worker
- Capacity to use and navigate digital applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Early literacy assessment or related assessment experience
- Experience with educational technology
- Ability to work well with diverse populations.
