Electrician/Critical Facility Technician - (Top Secret) Floater - Military Veterans

Responsibilities


  • Performs daily/weekly/monthly walk-throughs of the facilities in support of data center and office operations.


  • Walk-throughs (rounds) are completed every four hours through the entire facility.


  • Possesses a high level of technical knowledge & experience in performing maintenance, repairs and emergency service in Class A building and mission critical data center on state-of-the-art mission critical support systems.


  • Duties include performing daily inspections, preparing logs, supervising vendor/contractor activities and assisting in performing technical training for the operations team.


  • Operate & maintain equipment (electrical switchgear, diesel generators, HVAC/CRAC systems, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, and fire detection and suppression systems).


  • Audit maintenance records to schedule and dispatch service operations staff and subcontractors.


  • Ability to prepare MOPs and adhere to the strict guidelines of approved MOPs for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.


  • Provide technical support to customers with system emergencies.


  • Interface with Facility Management to ensure services are performed to satisfaction.


  • Updates service tickets and other maintenance related documents.


  • Assists with scheduling and managing vendors and subcontractors.


  • Assists in making preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.


  • Must be available to work emergency service & shift work.


  • Start out on 2nd part of the week on every other Wednesday, which means one week 48 hours and the other week 36 hours. (4 on, 3 off and 3 on, 4 off).


Qualifications


  • Must have Top Secret Security Clearance.

  • Advanced level of understanding & operational competency for mission critical electrical systems. Current/valid state issued Master Electrician license.


  • Factory Trained Certifications.


  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory and solid-state electronics.


  • Understanding of HVAC BMS, Chiller controls and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Extensive hands-on experience in repair of MCC, Switchgear, ATS, Static Switches HVAC Controls, Mechanical systems and VFDs.


  • A high level of understanding & experience in troubleshooting and repair of electrical switchgear, diesel generators, Simplex fire detection and suppression systems.


  • Ability to perform routine and emergency service on state-of-the-art mission critical systems to include electrical switchgear, diesel generators, HVAC systems, and fire detection and suppression system. Experience with basic level operation, repair and maintenance of HVAC systems.


  • 3 to 5 years of documented journeyman level experience (hands on).


  • 18 to 36 months apprenticeship or similar trade school.


  • Strong professional and technical writing skills.


  • Good computer skills to include intermediate proficiency with MS Office.


  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.


  • Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate various mechanical & electrical systems.
