Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) is looking for a Project Engineer III to work in Oak Ridge, TN. The position will lead engineering efforts for critical projects. These scopes deal mainly in site-civil space with new utility routing and connections into existing lines. Responsibilities
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering principles across various engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated foresight in determining staffing needs and selecting qualified personnel in multiple engineering disciplines
- Plans and coordinates work on large complex projects, a major project on which there are unique problems in schedule, finance, construction, or design
- Exercises operational supervision over assigned project engineers
- Manages the complex organizational interactions that evolve from the participation of multiple entities on the project or from client-established relationships
- Establishes and maintains access to technical experts in the advanced technologies pertinent to the project and sets up channels of communication to bring this expertise to bear effectively on the engineering effort
- Requires a broad knowledge of administrative practices and skill in negotiation with representatives of client and other organizational entities
- Conducts annual performance reviews in accordance with approved procedures and holds career development discussions
- Reviews and approves design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an applicable engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university
- 15+ years total engineering experience with at least 5 years of engineering supervisory experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a preferred qualification
