Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Nursing Director of the ICU you will be responsible for the daily operation of the unit. You will demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care within the ICU. You will have the ability to identify resources needed and responsible for staffing, hiring and budget management on the unit. We are looking for someone that is passionate and takes great pride in guiding the care of our patients like they are family. In this Director role:
- You will be responsible for the supervision of performance improvement within the department and will be expected to function with initiative and utilize independent judgement
- You will have the ability to retain and recruit sufficient and qualified staff for effective operations
- You will ensure staff is educated on established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated negative outcome in the patient’s care
- You will have the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of staff performance. You will plan and implement training and development accordingly.
- You will ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, healthy work environment, and quality improvement initiatives
- You will develop and communicate a shared vision for department(s) consistent with the hospital vision
- You will manage staff performance deficiencies in a constructive and timely manner. You will recognize staff members who exhibit exemplary performance
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Idaho RN license in good standing
- Minimum four to five years nursing experience in acute care required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master’s Degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support or obtain within 7 days of date of hire
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire
- Current NVCI (CPI) or obtain within 60 days of date of hire
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region. We serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, and parts of Montana. Our facility has an ER, a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. We have the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. Our 74-bed Behavioral Health Center offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults.
