The Ye lab at Department of Medicine, Rheumatology and Institute for Human Genetics at UCSF is seeking a highly motived advanced data scientist with backgrounds in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or other related areas. The individual will have a unique opportunity to lead the development of cloud-based analysis pipelines on AWS environment for highliy complex single-cell genomics projects at populational scale. The incumbent will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of computational biologists, geneticists, immunologists, and computer scientists to characterize the natural variability in immune response and map the genetic and environmental drivers of that diversity. Under the supervision of principal investigator, the qualified candidate will be responsible for developing data analysis pipelines, maintaining and implementing computational methods to AWS platform, and bringing together diverse multiparameter high-throughput genomic datasets to enable deep data integration and knowledge discovery including but not limited to single-cell transcriptomics (scRNA-seq and single nuclei RNA-seq), immune repertoire sequencing (TCR and BCR), proteomics (scCITE-seq), epigenomics (scATAC-seq), and spatial sequencing at the level of 106 cells and above. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
