Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Radiology Technologist in the Medical Imaging Department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Your role will involve performing diagnostic imaging procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, assisting the radiologist, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the department. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of care, ensure radiation safety, and participate in department improvement initiatives. This position involves working with cutting-edge technology and requires compliance with safety protocols, including handling hazardous medications as defined by hospital policy.
What You Will Do In This Role:
- Perform high-quality imaging procedures on patients, ensuring excellent patient care.
- Assist in transporting patients to and from the imaging department as needed.
- Support the radiologist during imaging procedures as required.
- Ensure patient safety and radiation safety throughout all procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation in the department.
- Manage and maintain department supplies and inventory in a cost-effective manner.
- Participate in the department’s Performance Improvement (PI) plan.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Collaborate as a team player within the imaging department and the hospital.
- Handle hazardous medications in compliance with hospital policies regarding hazardous or antineoplastic drugs, following all endorsed risk mitigation strategies.
- Operate Synapse (PACS), TeleRadiology systems, Meditech, and CD burners effectively.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Current registration with ARRT or Registry Eligible.
- 1 year of post-graduate experience preferred.
- If not registered, must obtain ARRT registration within 12 months of hire; otherwise, employment will be terminated.
- New graduates will have 12 months to become registered.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Past experience working in the OR strongly preferred.
